Rahul Kanwal has officially ended his over two-decade-long association with the India Today Group, stepping down from his dual responsibilities as News Director at TV Today Network and Executive Director at Business Today.
The news of his departure was communicated internally to the group’s staff through a note from Vice-Chairperson Kalli Purie. In the message, she acknowledged Kanwal’s journey within the organization and praised his rise from the grassroots to leadership positions, calling it an inspiring example of growth and commitment.
She highlighted the value Kanwal added during his time with the group, particularly in building strong editorial teams and creating content that resonated with audiences. Purie emphasized that while transitions are a natural part of the media world, the foundation laid by leaders like Kanwal ensures continuity and strength going forward.
“Rahul has played a key role in our evolution,” the note suggested, “and the team he has mentored is ready to carry the baton ahead.”
While no official announcement has been made regarding Kanwal’s next move, the note hinted at optimism for his future, expressing that his time at India Today will always remain a part of his journey.
